The other day, I shared our healthy habits weight loss program and got this comment. So why don’t I recommend keto? The short answer is it’s a diet. And like most diets, it is intended for short term use. There are also some concerns about long term health when it is used for long periods. Keto was not even originally intended for treating obesity, although in more recent years it has been. Here’s what Mayo Clinic (which is where the Ketogenic diet originated)[1] has to say about Keto. Mayo’s verdict: While the ketogenic diet may be recommended for some people with uncontrolled epilepsy, the high fat content — and especially the high level of unhealthy saturated fat — combined with limits on nutrient-rich fruits, veggies and grains is a concern for long-term heart health. [2] While it is hard to argue the fact that people have gotten benefits from this, I’ve also witnessed what happens after someone comes off of keto or any other heavily restricted diet. I’ve seen a close friend do this, and shortly after quitting keto, she went back to her old habits and gained back even more weight than she took off. I’ve seen this over and over with diets. While they may work in the short term, it’s easy to fall right back into old habits later, which is how you got to where you were in the first place. Not everyone goes back to their old habits, of course, and I admire people who have gotten their health back through keto or any other program, but many do. It’s natural for anyone trying to lose weight to want to drop it very quickly. But evidence shows that people who lose weight gradually and steadily (about 1 to 2 pounds per week) are more successful at keeping weight off. Healthy weight loss isn’t just about a “diet.” It’s about an ongoing lifestyle that includes long-term changes in daily eating and exercise habits.[3] If you do decide to use keto to lose weight, research has shown that cycling this with the Mediterranean diet can be useful in keeping the weight off.[4] On the other hand, you may want to create healthy long term eating and exercise habits and skip keto altogether, which is what I do recommend. A comment from my personal trainer this morning got me thinking. He was talking about his tough clients who make excuses all the time and just do what they want to do and how that sometimes kills his motivation as he really wants to see them succeed. “Like this guy here,” he added, pointing at me.
Some employees get complacent and sloppy, feel entitled, start showing up late, leaving early, not listening to any external advice, and then wonder why they aren’t as successful as they once were when any new employee would get fired in their first week for acting that way. Others keep doing the things successful people do day after day and become more and more successful with each passing year. Many times experience makes it even harder to succeed because then you don’t listen to the advice from those around you. It’s easy to ignore someone with a fresh perspective by saying things like “I know what to do,” and brush off the fact that what they are really saying is that it’s obvious that whatever you are doing isn’t working. You may know precisely what you need to do to be successful as I do with my weight. The thing is, if you know what to do but are struggling, you have to ask yourself, “Am I doing those things?” Are you showing up every day and doing what you need to do to be successful? Woody Allen said, “80% of success is just showing up.” I’ve found that to be true in my own life. If you are doing those things and are still not being successful, then I think you need to reevaluate whether or not you actually know what to do. Going back to my weight, I’ve slipped not because of any lack of knowledge, but because I’ve failed to follow the basics that I preach to everyone. I’m going to go back to the basics and do what I need to do to get back to a healthy weight. Where do you need to go back to the basics in your life? source https://www.personalgrowthchannel.com/2019/05/ninety-percent-of-success-comes-down-to.html Via https://personalgrowthchannel.tumblr.com/post/185042411919 I recently completed the ClickFunnels One Funnel Away Challenge, and one of the books that I received in my welcome kit blew me away. The title was “30 Days”. This book was compiled by asking over a hundred people who had made more than a million dollars through ClickFunnels what they would do if they lost everything.
While most business books are notoriously frustrating by talking in vague generalities, this book contains thirty full day by day battle plans for coming back from this scenario. If you have ever considered creating your own business, are trying to grow your business, or are just curious how some people create serious cash flows, this is the book for you. Enjoy! source https://www.personalgrowthchannel.com/2019/05/personal-development-book-of-month-30.html Via https://personalgrowthchannel.tumblr.com/post/184874418074 I was at a conference yesterday, and Jason Young from Culturetopia said something that rang true to me. He said, “I want you to be successful, but don’t settle for money.” His point was that while money is necessary, it is more important to be happy with your life than to make a lot of money. Jason told a moving story of changing from a position he loved where he was developing people to one where he was making more money but hated. He floundered in the new role. Eventually, he was able to move back into a role doing what he loved and flourished once again. I’ve personally experienced this. My love is solving problems and helping people grow. Luckily my current role allows me to do both, but I’ve done other things in the past that aren’t part of my strengths, and that drained life from me. I took a pay cut to do what I loved, which ended up eventually being a pay increase as I flourished in that environment. One resource that Jason mentioned was one of our previous books of the month, “Strengthsfinder 2.0 by Tom Rath.” If you want to be successful, find your strengths and what you love doing, and do that. Another excellent resource for this is our career and personality testing tool which is available either for purchase or is free for all members. Like Jason, I want you to be successful. But don’t settle for money.

He said, “It seems like the more education I have, the less I make.” Certifications: Why They MatterEarly on in my career, I was making minimum wage as a technician, which was $4.25 an hour at the time. I hadn’t completed college, and my prospects seemed a bit dim. I looked through job after job, but most of them wanted certifications. After a little while, I noticed a pattern. Many required the Microsoft Certified Professional certification. So, I invested a few thousand dollars and took it. Shortly after, I was able to land a job that added $20k a year to my salary! When you’re making $4.25/hr, that’s a huge jump.Certifications such as the Cisco Certified Network Professional are highly valued today. According to Payscale.com, the salary for a CCNP certified professional starts at $41,022 and ranges up to $133,590 depending on location and seniority. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification might get you anywhere from $59k-$180k depending on your location and position. So why are employers willing to pay that much? Well, they know that these certifications mean that you know what you’re doing, and they can bill out your time at higher rates. At the end of the day, when your employer makes more money, you make more money, so anything you can do to boost your billing rate will help you make more. That’s why certifications matter. Certifications: Why They Don’t MatterAt this point in my career, I have lost count of the number of initials behind my name. CC, CL, ACB, ALS, MS1, MS2, MS3, MCP, PMP, MCSE+I, A+, CLC, CCNA, CCNP, CCDA…they all run together after a while. The last certification I got I said cool, stuck the certificate in my drawer, and forgot about it. At some point, additional certifications have a very minimal impact on your income or ability for you or your company to charge more for your services.Once you hit that point, certifications no longer matter that much to you. It’s not that you shouldn’t take the courses to stay sharp and stay on top of the latest products and research, it’s just that it won’t immediately translate into additional cash in your pocket. You or your employer may not be able to start billing out at twice your regular rate just because you added a few more initials to your name when you already have thirty letters behind it.
I asked a group of six-figure earners how long they had been at their current job, and out of over three hundred responses, more than 2/3 told me they had been there more than five years. It not only requires taking the proper courses to improve your earning power, but you also must do the work and use what you’ve learned to bring value to your clients. Focus on Delivering Value to Increase Your Earning AbilityYour income earning ability is limited only by what people are willing to pay for it which is why certifications can be a very wise investment. Unfortunately, at some point people start to say well if John can get the job done just as well at half the price you’re charging, it’s not worth paying twice that just because you had a bit more training, so eventually certifications stop mattering as much as they did when you were starting your career. If you want to increase your earning potential, yes you should invest in certifications early on in your career, but then you want to start focusing on how you can deliver more value to your employer or clients. When you can deliver enough value to enough people, your income levels can go off the charts. Think of things like the One Funnel Away Challenge, where people paid in $100 to go through a course. There were over 4,300 people in the group when I took the challenge. Do the math on that, $100 * $4,300 = $430,000 for a thirty day challenge. And there will be more next time. Why? Because participants stand to make a lot more than $100 from the lessons they learn in that class. It’s a no brainer to invest in things like that when you can pay in $100 and potentially make thousands from what you learned, so it’s good for both you and the person delivering the class. You’d be happy to give me a $100 if I gave you back $1000 or something you desperately wanted, right? That’s how delivering value works. When you find ways to deliver more value to your clients or employer, your income will go up. Whether that’s by increasing your skills through various courses, or by creating and selling things that help others, if you are providing a lot more value than what you are charging, both you and your customer or employer will be happy. source https://www.personalgrowthchannel.com/2019/04/certifications-why-they-matter-and-why.html Via https://personalgrowthchannel.tumblr.com/post/184462094464 When you reach retirement age, you may find that your ability to enjoy it is limited by your available cash. Taking a cut in your income is common when you retire, but it is not ideal. One way to supplement your income is with a reverse mortgage. Here are some facts you need to know before applying.

The premise of the challenge is that they asked all of their two comma club winners (those who have made over a million dollars through ClickFunnels) what they would do over the next thirty days from a marketing standpoint if they lost virtually everything, and then compiled a thirty day challenge where we would be challenged to do exactly that. So, am I now a bazillionaire with more money than I can spend a few weeks after completing the challenge?Alas, no. By the time I paid for the challenge, paid for advertising, paid for the complete suite with ClickFunnels which includes the ability to set up affiliates, purchased a shopify subscription, created an LLC for my company, and set myself up so that I could give out vacations as rewards for our workout challenge, I had invested quite a good chunk of cash. Unfortunately, I have yet to fully recover it. Do I feel like it was worth it?Do I feel like it was worth it? Well, that’s a different question.Absolutely. 1000%. I’ve been through a lot of marketing and sales training over the last 40+ years, and this was without question the best training I’ve ever been through. It’s cheap too in comparison to the thousands of dollars that most worthwhile classes run. It’s not for the faint of heart though, expect to spend several hours every day to get through it. I feel like I’ve got a solid online business set up at this point, which I didn’t truly have before I started. Beyond that, I’ve accomplished my initial goal, which was to help get the word out about our workout challenge which is designed to teach healthy habits and hopefully save some lives. The first day I turned the funnel that I created during the challenge on, I had someone buy the t-shirt and welcome kit, and within a week or two already had a hundred people signed up. If you’ve ever tried to launch something new, you know that it’s pretty common to have no one sign up at first, so that’s pretty exciting. I saw multiple people in the private group hit the one comma club before the end of the thirty days, meaning they had already made more than a thousand dollars. I think the best part is that I’m now part of a group where there are people who are in the 8 figure club, those who have done more than ten million dollars in business through ClickFunnels. Those are pretty good people to know. ConclusionIf you are looking for a quick way to become a millionaire in the next thirty days starting with nothing, you’re most likely going to be disappointed by this challenge. If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves, put in a lot of hard work, invest money in setting up your online business properly, and learn some really great sales and marketing material which should provide a solid return over time, this challenge will give you a big bang for your buck. If you’re interested in taking the challenge, click here. They only do it every so often though, so if you’re wanting to take it I wouldn’t wait too long.
